In 2010, while still in high school, best friends Joanna Harkins and Kellie Hogan started dreaming up plans to one day starting their very own magazine. The following summer, after finishing their first years at university, they made the #YOLO decision to create inconnu. The word “inconnu,” French for “unknown,” represents everything the magazine stands for — finding all that is creative, interesting, and hilarious and bringing it into the spotlight. The two girls, along with their BFF Taylor Brogan, raised some money on Kickstarter and created the Debut Issue. Since then, they have branched out into the blogosphere and hired a ballin’ staff of talented writers, artists, photographers, and video makers.

They plan to one day conquer all domains of culture. Stay tuned.
